Downhill Ski, the other Code This Lab winter game on this site, is about reaching the end of a track while missing hurdles. The score grows from what you avoid, which is a nice inversion of games that only count what you collect. You can play a timid line down the middle and finish with a poor score, or you can pass close to hurdles and risk the run for a better one. That choice is the game. It is skiing, in a wide landscape frame, with phones listed. Slalom Ski Simulator, from the same studio, wants gates and a clock. This one wants a finish and a trail of near-misses. On the second, pass nearer the hurdles you understand. A hurdle you have not seen before is not a score opportunity. It is a reason to leave a margin. The wide 1500 by 768 source suits a monitor. A phone in landscape can play it, and a phone in portrait will feel cramped because we do not rotate a landscape sports game into a tall box.
